A message from Chamber Board President Christa Curtis

Hello Chamber Members,

In January, I became president of the Chamber Board of Directors. This group of local, volunteer businesspeople are responsible for the Chamber’s operational health and for achieving the organization’s mission. The Chamber is growing, just as our community is growing; but we have finite resources. Our chamber includes one staff member and many volunteers, to support our programming and operations. Focus and prioritization are key to the success of our organization – it’s the way we will ensure that we put our efforts into the areas that matter most for our members and our community.

For this reason, the Chamber Board of Directors held a half-day retreat in January to establish a two-year strategic plan that prioritizes our efforts. This plan is focused on five priorities that we think are key to the chamber’s success and sustainability:

  1. Maintain fiscal and operational excellence
  2. Drive member benefits and value
  3. Develop and building committees and volunteer pool
  4. Attract new business
  5. Engage key stakeholders

We feel it is important to be transparent with our members about our strategic direction because your membership dollars drive the operations and programming of the chamber. I hope you will take a few minutes to look at our strategic plan below. We would like to hear your feedback or questions so that we can continue to focus our efforts on the areas that drive growth for your business. You can email feedback to info@ellettsvillechamber.org or we can talk at an upcoming chamber event! Thank you for your continued investment in the Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce.
