A Message from Board President, Christa Curtis
At this time of year, the Chamber Board of Directors would like to take this chance to thank you, our members, for a successful 2024. Our community is growing and so is our Chamber. This year, the Greater Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce:
- Welcomed 17 new members
- Planned and executed 20 member events
- Established an External Affairs Committee to elevate the voice of business on important community issues
- Collaborated with the IU Kelly School of Business on a member survey to identify areas of improvement
As we look to grow our membership, our programming, and our overall value to members we realize the need to increase our resourcing. Currently, Jill Thurman works part-time as the Chamber’s sole employee. Beginning next year, we are thrilled to share that Jill is moving into a full-time role and has been promoted to Director, Greater Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce. We absolutely believe this is the right next step for our chamber and we congratulate Jill on her promotion!
With the increase in our expenses, it was time for us to evaluate our budget and revenue streams. We have not increased membership costs for the premium and executive membership levels in six years. So, beginning with 2025 renewals, our Executive Membership Level will increase to $595 per year and the Premium Membership Level will increase to $1,495. The decision to increase dues is one we take very seriously. The costs of running the chamber have grown, just as you have likely experienced within your business. But, we are also committed to increasing our value and serving you in a new and better ways.
