The Monroe County Historical Society is excited to announce that our annual Garage Sale Fundraiser Extravaganza is moving to Ellettsville. In June of 2027 we will be holding our 46th Annual Garage Sale Extravaganza at our new location: 6600 McNeely St. The Cook Group is graciously renovating the interior for our needs and as work is completed, we will announce when donations will begin at the new site.
Executive Director of the History Center, Daniel Schlegel, said “This is a great and exciting chapter we are going to begin in Ellettsville. It’s a great town with a lot of history and many supporters of the History Center, so we are looking forward to engaging with more people in our community. And the City of Ellettsville has shown nothing but excitement and been extraordinarily helpful. We want to thank everyone for their help in making this happen.”
The Annual Garage Sale Extravaganza is the largest fundraiser for the Monroe County Historical Society and brings over 2,000 visitors over four days to find amazing bargains. The June 2027 dates are: June 9th for Monroe County History Center members and Cook employees. June 11th and 12th for the public, and half off sale day will be Monday, June 14th.
