Big conversations are continuing in Ellettsville and Richland Township– and community members are encouraged to be part of them.
Over the past several months, local officials, committee members, and residents have been discussing the proposed Richland Township and Town of Ellettsville reorganization plan: an effort focused on strengthening local government operations, improving long-term planning, preserving local decision-making, and preparing the community for future growth.
Now, a new round of public hearings is approaching, giving residents another opportunity to learn more, ask questions, hear updates, and share feedback before the process moves forward.
The upcoming hearings will take place at Ellettsville Town Hall on:
• Wednesday, May 27 • Wednesday, June 10 • Monday, June 22
These meetings are an opportunity for residents to stay informed about the proposal and hear updates directly from local leaders and committee members involved in the process.
Topics discussed throughout the process have included planning and zoning, parks and recreation, public safety, infrastructure, and other services that impact residents across Richland Township and Ellettsville.
Community participation remains an important part of the process, and residents are encouraged to attend, listen, ask questions, and stay engaged as discussions continue.
In addition to the public hearings, community members can also stop by the Reorganization Booth at the Ellettsville Farmers Market at Chandler’s Funeral Home on Saturdays throughout the summer to learn more, ask questions, and speak directly with representatives involved in the effort.
