Chamber Survey Shows Strong Business Support for Reorganization
|
|
The Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce recently surveyed members and the local business community regarding the proposed reorganization of the Town of Ellettsville and Richland Township. After reopening the survey to allow additional participation, 53 businesses and community members responded.

Key Findings
- 87% believe the proposal would have a positive impact on future growth and economic development.
- 76% believe it would positively affect the local business community.
- 77% currently support the proposed reorganization.
- The most frequently cited concerns involve taxes, infrastructure, and managing future growth.
- Respondents consistently requested continued public education and clear, factual information before the November vote.

The Community Foundation’s 2026-2027 multi-tiered grant funding initiative supports the growth, resilience, and long-term vitality of Monroe County. Through these multi-tiered investments, CFBMC seeks to position our community to advance efforts that support meaningful progress toward enhancing quality of life, attracting and retaining younger adults and families, increasing livability, and advancing community priorities in Monroe County.

Funding is available to a range of eligible organizations, including nonprofit organizations, schools, post-secondary institutions, local governmental entities, and religious organizations.
