Jacob Beerbower from Boston Scientific

Jacob Beerbower is a results-driven senior production manager with more than a decade of experience leading transformation through data-informed decision-making and strategic reform. He has worked for Boston Scientific since 2011 and currently oversees logistics for the Spencer, Indiana facility that supports
the manufacturing of medical devices in a highly regulated environment. Throughout his career, Jacob has managed large,
complex teams and consistently delivers measurable improvements in quality, capacity, and financial performance.
Most recently, Jacob spent a year leading the transfer and ramp-up of a production line from Spencer to Boston Scientific’s manufacturing facility in Clonmel, Ireland where he managed cross-cultural teams, strengthened global collaboration, and delivered improved output, yield, and risk mitigation during production launch. His leadership approach emphasizes composure under pressure, transparent communication, and a relentless focus on solving problems and achieving outcomes.
A core focus of Jacob’s leadership is talent development and building strong pipelines
for future leaders. He is actively involved in the Young Professionals Network (YPN) Employee Resource Group and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, supporting mentorship and professional growth across organizations.
Jacob is passionate about coaching and developing others and empowering individuals to take ownership of their growth. He also volunteers at STEM outreach events in the
community, reinforcing his commitment to developing talent early and encouraging
curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
Outside of work, Jacob and his wife Alyssa live in Ellettsville with their three children:
Raelynn (10), Kyleigh (8), and Maverick (6). Jacob enjoys watching his daughters
compete in gymnastics and coaching his son in soccer and basketball. As a family, they
enjoy traveling and experiencing new adventures together.

Landmark gift from Connie and Steve Ferguson and IU Health to expand nursing education at Ivy Tech Bloomington

Indiana University Health and Indiana University Health Foundation today announced a transformational gift from Bloomington philanthropists Connie and Steve Ferguson to expand nursing education at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington and help address Indiana’s nursing shortage through a scalable training model.
“We are proud to support IU Health and Ivy Tech’s partnership in strengthening Indiana’s nursing workforce,” said Connie and Steve Ferguson. “We were motivated by the idea that Indiana can train more nurses by building on the strong foundation that’s already in place. By expanding evening and weekend classes, and clinical training capacity, this approach increases the nursing pipeline statewide and helps more students from the region become caregivers in our communities.”

Internship Fair

The time has come, and we are recruiting employers to serve as worksite mentors for EHS Juniors and Seniors! Instead of students heading out into our community to find placements, we would like to partner with local employers to provide incredible work-based learning opportunities for our students
Our EHS students have an opportunity to explore 18 Next Level Pathways as possible career fields. We would love to offer 4-5 internship opportunities for students upon completion of Pathways and transition into work-based learning. In addition to the Pathways, we are looking for partners in the fields of cosmetology, construction, law, law enforcement, project management, etc.
How can you learn more and possibly get involved?
  1. Fill out this quick Google Form to register and let us know you're interested in this possibility. We will connect with you individually to answer your questions!
  2. Come to a Work-Based Learning Fair at EHS to meet potential interns.
  3. April 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the EHS Gymnasium
  4. Join early at 8:00 a.m. for the Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce Coffee Connection!
5. Finally, you will be matched with an intern, who meets your needs as an employer, and can learn from you in a particular career field. It’s a win-win
6. If you have any questions, please just fill out the form above or email me separately. I'm here to help and look forward to providing rewarding opportunities for students and employers in our area!
