Help Us Welcome Our New Board President Christa Curtis
Our 2024 board president is Christa Curtis. For over twenty years, Christa has worked in marketing and communications in several industries, including media, tourism, wellness, and healthcare. For the past 13 years, Christa has held various marketing and communications leadership positions within Cook Medical. She serves as vice president of marketing and communications and on the Cook Medical Executive team. Her responsibilities include global oversight and direction over Cook's marketing and communications activity, including brand strategy, creative services, corporate communications, product marketing, events management, and digital marketing. Christa has lived in Ellettsville for 15 years with her husband, Todd, and their kids, Cameron and Emma. Christa grew up in Greene County/Bloomfied and graduated from Indiana University. She said, "When we moved back home from Northern Indiana, we decided to settle in Ellettsville – we were pleasantly surprised by the changes in Ellettsville – the connectivity offered by SR 46, the affordability of the homes, and the quality of the schools. We have now lived here for 15+ years. Cameron is a senior at Indiana University, and Emma is a 7th grader at Edgewood Schools who is active in cross country, track, and show choir. Cook encourages employees to get involved in their community, and the company thought having representation with the Ellettsville Chamber was important. Because Ellettsville is my home, I agreed to be the Cook rep. I immediately felt a connection with the chamber board – the people in Ellettsville are fantastic. Everyone wants to do the right thing for our community; for the most part, we all get along. That's how we can make things happen, together. And that's why I am glad to be a part of this community and this team. Christa serves on the Envision Ellettsville board and has been on the Ellettsville Chamber board of directors since 2019.
