CDFI Friendly Bloomington is a community development nonprofit organization that exists to increase project investment in a 13-county Southern Indiana region. CDFIs (Community Development Financial Institutions) are designed to provide accessible financing for a variety of projects including affordable housing, childcare, small business expansion, energy efficiency and food security. We work with community stakeholders to bring more community investment to our part of the state. We also have funds that can assist with environmental assessment at potential project sites. The Ellettsville Chamber is participating in the Smoke Detector Blitz on June 27 in collaboration with the Ellettsville Fire Department and the Red Cross. We are seeking volunteers and request your assistance in spreading the word.

Event: Limestone Tour of Rose Hill Cemetery

Location: Rose Hill Cemetery, 1100 W 4th Street
Join members of the History Center Cemetery Committee for a tour of Rose Hill Cemetery! Learn about different headstone styles and carvings that are a part of our rich limestone industry history.
To maintain an engaging conversation, tour capacity is limited to 20.

The history of Bloomington Punk is still being written… at Streetdance Rewind, a FREE outdoor punk music festival in front of the Monroe County History Center. On Saturday, June 29th, join us on East 6th Street between Washington and Lincoln for performances by local bands, headlined by Yellow Rain. Streetdance Rewind kicks off at 5 pm on the lawn of the Monroe County History Center with activities for all ages, food trucks, a tattoo flash pop-up with Jereme Galloway, and much more. You won’t want to miss it!
